- Go to the printer control panel from the Quality Menu, and then decrease the toner darkness.
Note: Default setting is 8.
- Now, resend the print job to check the results. If the gray background still appears from the prints then reinstall the imaging unit and the toner cartridge.
- When this is done, remove the toner cartridge from the Dell printer.
- Again remove the imaging unit from the machine.
Note: Do not keep the imaging unit in a direct light for more than 10 minutes. If this happens, the light can cause print quality problems.
- Reinstall them back one after another after waiting for a minute.
- Give a test print to check the changes made. If this doesn’t solve your issue then replace the imaging unit, and then resend the print job.
Tip: It is advised to use Dell branded toners and drums for the better printouts.
